2. We tried this new recipe tonight! It was SO EASY and a hit! Will definitely be making this one again!!! I served it on whole wheat buns with Corky's BBQ sauce!

3. Since it's been SO DARN cold outside, I have almost ZERO desire to get out of the house...so this weekend instead of having a night on the town on Saturday the hubby and I will have a Movie Night at home!!! Gotta LOVE $1.00 Redbox!

And maybe enjoy this OH SO YUMMY dessert! Bliss!

4. I'm SO OVER the cold, the snow, wearing coats, sick babies, high MLGW bills !!! Is is Spring yet?!?!?!



5. I'm SO PROUD of my hubby!! He officially started back to school this week at Union University (Germantown Campus)! He will be completing his Organizational Leadership Degree over the next 18 months! Go Babe Go!!!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I'm LOVING my new Curel Ultra Healing lotion! I have been seeing advertisements for it in magazines for a while and finally decided to try it. I'm so glad I did! I am really picky when it comes to body lotions and haven't found one I just "love" yet. I think I might have a winner now! It's SUPER moisturizing, not smelly, not greasy.....It's PERFECT!


I'm LOVING that the new season of American Idol starts tonight! I have to admit, I did not watch much last season and have almost let it go for good, but I'm going to give it one more shot!



I'm LOVING my new Lands End Down Jacket! It just came today and it's SO CUTE! I HATE wearing coats and the only ones I own are dressy. So with the crazy cold temps I needed to find something to keep from freezing~I wanted something a little more casual for everyday wear...and I'm SO glad I chose this one.....It's BEAUTIFUL!! And whats even better is I had birthday money, it was marked down HALF OFF, and I got free shipping!!

I'm LOVING we have another playdate on Friday with some GREAT friends! I can't wait! And I'm in charge of dessert!! I wander what I should make?!?! Desserts are my weakness! :-) and my most FAVORITE thing to make!

Five On Friday~better late than never!~

1. This is my new obsession! It's like "crack" in a lip balm version! LOVE this stuff! It's not greasy, it's not shiny, it's just simple peppermint goodness! My chapped lips are addicted:)

2. With all this cold weather not only me but my kids are going ABSOLUTELY insane from being stuck inside....which has made me dream of being on this.....Disney's new ship The Disney Dream! It sails out for the first time January 26th! A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!!


3. This week we had our sweet friends (The Brandt's) over on Friday to play! We have been missing our regular playdates since we have been so busy with the holidays. It's good to have them back! The kiddos LOVE playdates and I LOVE the mama social time!! True friends are therapy to a tired mama's soul :-)




4. I joined the gym!!! And I couldn't be more excited! I tried the whole "working out at home thing".....and with 2 kiddos swinging from your legs when your trying to keep up with Jillian's 30 Day Shred....it wasn't happening! Now....time to get skinny! My goal is to shed about 10 pounds!



5. I need a vacation! Yes, I know, I mentioned the cruise, but I really think I need a little mini-getaway for just me. I have NEVER been away from my kids alone where it was just time alone for me. I have only left Caleb once since he was born (last summer for Youth Camp at church) and well, that was definitely not "me time". Don't get me wrong, I LOVED every minute of Big Stuf Camp, but instead of taking care of just my 2 kids, I was taking care of a whole room full of sweet middle school girls:-) Fun times! So, I would REALLY love some time away for just ME! Is that too selfish?!?! Any suggestions on what I could do, where I could go?!?! I think anywhere I can go and just sleep in for the first time in, oh, 4 years sounds INCREDIBLE!

Weekend Wrap Up!

I know, it's already Wednesday and I"m just getting around to posting about our weekend...I blame it on the snow:-) It made me a little lazy!!

Saturday we had a lazy day at home with whole family! I LOVE these kinds of days! When we have NO where we have to go or nothing we just HAVE to do! Jason and I ended our day by having dinner at home and renting a Red Box (LOVE...LOVE....LOVE $1.00 movies!!). We rented "It's Complicated" and it was HILARIOUS!

Sunday was the big 29th Birthday for me! Last year in my 20's :-( Yes, this depresses me....moving on......We spent the morning at home with the family cleaning out closets and organizing (yes, I chose to do this on my birthday! I LOVE to clean and organize!!) and then we dropped the kids off at my parents house and had a late lunch at El Porton (can we say WHITE CHEESE DIP!) and then ran a few errands together! It was so nice to have a quiet dinner with just the hubs and get the opportunity to run a few errands kid free ~happy birthday to me:-) Later we celebrated with a WONDERFUL homemade cake my sweet mama made me! It was a GREAT birthday!



And on Monday seemed like another weekend day because we had our first official snow day this year! It was beautiful and the kids had a BLAST!

I'm LOVING Off The Hoof Burgers in Arlington! We ate their for my birthday dinner with Jason's family last night ( it wasn't our first time). YUM! The burgers are A.M.A.Z.I.N.G and their sweet potato fries (w/chipolte ranch) are TO DIE FOR!!!

I'm LOVING Emily again this week! What is NOT to love about this genuinely *sweet* (no drama) Southern girl! Brad is CRAZY if she is not one of the final two!

I'm LOVING my new J-41 Tahoe Sport Slip-On shoes! I have been looking for an alternative to my tennis shoes to wear with my more casual outfits and these are PERFECT! And OH SO comfortable!

Five On Friday~

In an effort to keep up with my blogging goal for 2011, I wanted to find a way to share random things going on in our life weekly, SO I am TOTALLY going to steal (um, I mean borrow) an idea that I have seen several other bloggers using....Five On Friday......


1. It's been a really LONG and BUSY week....I somehow got REALLY behind on ALL my housework and found myself completely overwhelmed this morning trying to figure out where to begin....managing your home can be E.X.H.A.U.S.T.I.N.G!!!!

2. My Chi finally bit the dust this week :-( My hair straightner is an ESSENTIAL for me, so I had to figure something out....FAST! I had a sweet friend (with gorgeous) hair who recommend the Chi Turbo. I couldn't find one in a store, so I set out to do what I LOVE best...ONLINE SHOP! I found one and it was great price with FREE shipping! It arrived yesterday! I can't wait to try it out today. I'll let you know how it does!

3. I made THESE bad boys this week...Chocolate Mousse Filled Snickers Cupcakes...Seriously AMAZING!!!

4. One of my guilty pleasures returned to TV this week...


that's right....THE BACHELOR.....I know, it's a bunch of crazy drama but some how I get sucked in every season.....I have to admit, I am NOT crazy about the Brad Womack as the choice for this season...he had his chance, he blew it...time to move on...but I am all about SECOND chances AND he swears he has changed....so we will just have to see! My favorite so far is Emily!

I just love her simple, "no drama" (so far) personality. Plus, she is BEAUTIFUL!

5. It's my BIRTHDAY weekend! I'm not one that gets SUPER excited about my birthday, really never have, but there is always something special about it being "your day"......no big plans yet....but I do plan on LIVING it up this year.....since it will be my VERY.LAST. YEAR in my 20's :-(......I'm getting old!

2011~New Years Resolutions!

Happy New Year! There is just something about a new year that gives you the feeling of a brand new start~a clean slate so to speak. I know this is exciting for me and I'm sure for most of you! I am VERY goal oriented, so the idea of starting off with a set of fresh resolutions is exciting. With that said, here are a few of the goals/"resolutions" I have set for myself:

Grow out my hair: I have had my hair really short for the last 2 years...I have said MANY times I was going to grown it out. Even begged my husband to forbid me to cut it (that didn't work obviously), but this year, I'M STICKING TO IT! I think my problem is the "in between stage" of the growth....it starts to bug me so I CHOP IT! But NOT this year:-)

Lose 10 pounds: No, I do not think I'm fat, but I do think I could shed a few pounds (who doesn't). Health is becoming more important to me the older I get and I realize I'm NOT getting any younger and that my body isn't either! Ha! My goal is to not only shed the weight I know is looming around, but to develop better eating habits....I think it all goes hand in hand!

Blog More: I'm TERRIBLE at keeping up with the whole blogging thing...I have EVERY desire to, really I do, but time just gets the best of me and I slack. I really enjoy reading others blogs and my Google reader has become a slight addiction.....I just have a hard time keeping up with my own. I hoping that will change in 2011.

Drink More H2O: I'm a Diet Dr. Pepper junkie *sigh*....I try to limit myself, but there is a slight addiction there to that carbonation "burn"....I LOVE it, I CRAVE it......I'm going to FIGHT it this year! :-)

Read: Notice I didn't say "Read More".....that's because I DON'T read! Another one of those things I have EVERY desire to do, but just can't find the time....this year I want to make the time, I need to make the time.

Shower FIRST THING in the morning: Go ahead, laugh if you need to, but this is truth people. As a stay at home mom of two small children, I have the pleasure of slow mornings, most days. Before I know it, it's mid-morning and I still haven't showered! And then there are days I look up and it's 2:00 p.m and I STILL haven't showered! (Yes, I am ashamed to admit this). I fully admit I feel like a better mom/person once I haven't gotten myself "ready" for the day so my goal this year is to start getting up and getting myself together before I notice it's afternoon:-)

Learn How To Use My New Camera: Mom and Dad got me DSLR (Cannon EOS Rebel T1i) for Christmas and I'm SO EXCITED to figure this thing out! My point and shoot was falling apart AND I love taking pictures, so this was by far the BEST gift this year!!!

and last but not least......

Be More Intentional about spending quality time with my babies: Reality is beginning to set in that I only have a little over a year to spend with my sweet little girl Macie before I lose her to the "real world" of Kindergarten...this TERRIFIES me.....and honestly having the freedom to be at home with my babies often lends to constant housework and other tedious responsibilities and before I know it, I've let them watch TV all day and entertain themselves~I'm sure other SAHM's can relate! It's time I plan a schedule for us and stick to it!

So there you have it, just a few goals I have set for myself......here's to a NEW year with NEW beginnings!
