A baby sister named "Squiggles"......

It's NO LIE when I say that Macie asks NO LESS than 5 TIMES A DAY...(and I quote)..."can we have a girl for a baby sister one day?" Macie is C.R.A.Z.Y obsessed with wanting a baby sister! Where this comes from, we have no clue! Most of the time I just blow it off, some of the times I will humor her...For example:

Me: "Why do you want a baby sister?"
Macie: "So Caleb can have a baby friend to pull its hair"

Me: "What would you want to name your baby sister?"
Macie: "Squiggles"
Me: (try not to bust out laughing) "What would her last name be?"
Macie: "Um, Long" (staring at me with a look like, what else would her last name be?)

Me: "What if God gave us a baby boy?"
Macie: " Um, No thanks"

Macie: "Mama, can we have a baby girl for a sister one day?"
Me: "Ask to you daddy!!!" :-)

And since there is no "baby sister" on the scene, those around her will just have to suffer:-)

Daddy LOVED this one, so much that he said Caleb was going to work with him from now on:-)

Well, it's OFFICIAL......

He is definitely HIGHLY allergic to peanuts!!

Poor baby! After seeing the Allergist last Thursday, it was confirmed that Caleb is indeed allergic to peanuts. We have also been advised to stay away from ALL tree nuts as well as there is a 60% chance that he is allergic to those as well, or will develop and allergy to them. When he turns 3 we will take him back for re-testing on peanuts and test for tree nuts and other common allergens as well! Their is a 20% chance he will outgrow it, so we are praying that is the case! As for now, we are strict on reading ALL food labels and being very careful as to what we give Caleb to eat, especially when we are out to eat. We have also been advised to avoid ALL foods that contain "traces" of peanuts, food that has been processed on equipment that process peanuts or products that contain peanuts, and all foods in "out to eat venues" that could be "cross-contaminated" with peanuts . THAT'S A LOT OF FOOD!!! Next time your out to eat just notice ALL the signs EVERYWHERE saying that their foods could have come in contact with peanuts! It's crazy!!! Bye Bye Baskin Robbins ice cream (as they scoop peanut butter ice cream with the SAME scoop as the vanilla WITHOUT WASHING THE SCOOP, only "rinsing" it!!!!). But we are taking NO chances....according to the allergist all it takes is a one bite of food that contains a "piece" of a peanut to cause a reaction which could be life threatening....mommy is most definitely armed with her EpiPen now at ALL TIMES!

I hate this for my baby boy, but it's just one of those things we must learn to adjust to. :-(

Caleb's First Haircut!

He looks so excited, right?!!? Ha! He wasn't so sure about someone cutting on his hair, but he did a great job! He only had little fly-aways and a little length over his ears, but he definitely needed a trim:-) Ms. Angie did a great job! I LOVE (and highly recommend) Belle Ame Hair Salon!!!

I Wish: Master Bedroom

" I wish".....I had enough money to create my very own "master bedroom sanctuary", in a home that was custom built just for my family:-) I couldn't find ONE picture that described my "wishful master bedroom", so I thought I would give you a little picture show rundown:-)

I am in LOVE with this duvet cover! It's beautiful and has a "comfortable" look (which is totally me). I actually just ordered for our master bedroom!! I usually lean towards darker colors and less pattern, but I have been dying to use this blue somewhere in my house and I am in the mood to change things up a bit!

Long, blue silk drapes to coordinate with the bedding

I would love to pair it with some gorgeous bedroom furniture like this! I LOVE the dark woods and I am dying for a King size bed with a tall solid headboard and one WITHOUT a foot board (so the duvet can hang over the end of the bed and show all it's beauty!!)

My bedroom would have high coffered ceilings, a sitting area, tall windows, recess lighting, a dark tan wall color and lovely french doors leading out to a private patio!

But instead of hardwood flooring, I want stained concrete, with a coordinating rug under the bed.

And of course the room would not be complete with out one of these bad boys! Oh heavenly day! A gas fireplace with nice big TV over it (that's for the hubby)!

A girl can dream, right?

Top 2 Things To Do Before You Die

1. Go to Nursing School (Union University Bachelor's to Bachelor's Program). I have a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education (K-8) and I have enjoyed teaching, but have always wanted to be a nurse......

2. Take a 13 Night Royal Caribbean Cruise (with the hubby of course) to Hawaii

So, what do you want to do before you die? Visit Undomestic Momma and tell us.

I've been in the market for some new bedding for our master bedroom for a while....but haven't been able to find anything I just LOVE...until now....The duvet we have on our bed is almost 7 years old. It was a wedding gift from my parents, so it's pretty special, and I love it just as much now as I did then, but I really am wanting to change things up a bit. I have had this "itch" to paint something blue or use a beautiful coal blue somewhere in my when I found these, I starting falling in LOVE....after much searching.....these are the two (both from Pottery Barn) that I am considering:

I LOVE them both! I"m dreaming of both! And possibly a beautiful blue bathroom to coordinate:-) DECISIONS....DECISIONS....!!!!!!

Sweet Wilder Avery~

Yesterday Jason and I had the privilege of being part of Wilder Avery's Baby Dedication at Ridgeway Baptist Church. It was such a special time to see Brad and Wendy commit their baby girl to the Lord through the act of dedication. Wendy and Brad are wonderful parents and we look forward to watching Wilder grow in her love for the Lord!

Teacher Appreciation and School Program

Last week at Macie's school (Advent Pres) it was Teacher Appreciation Week. Being a former teacher, I know how nice it is to feel appreciated, even if it is in the simplest ways! So we baked her sweet teachers some Poppy Seed Bread Mini Loafs and made cards to say THANK YOU! I personally appreciate these women because they have taken such GREAT care of my baby girl this year and taught her SO much!! They are truly wonderful women!

YUMMY bread!!! Check out my food blog for the recipe!

She was SO proud of her cards she painted!

Not only was it Teacher Appreciation week, but Macie's class also put on a special Circle Time program for the parents. CUTE! Macie did a great job! They sang songs, said their pledge, showed their parents how they take roll each day, and the kids even made the moms Mother's Day cards and gave us flowers at the end of the program *tear*.......I am so proud of the little girl Macie is becoming:-)

My big girl (3 years old)!

Circle Time

Macie's Teacher, Ms. Susan and Ms. Dianne ( we LOVE them!!)

So proud of her!!!

Happy Mother's Day!

Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.
Psalm 127:3

What a blessing it is to be called a MOM!! There is no greater gift (outside of salvation) than becoming a Mother! I am SO grateful for the 2 babies the Lord has given me to love and care for! I am truly blessed and honored to be their Mommy!

And, not only are they SWEET, but they give some GREAT gifts (with the help of their amazing daddy)!! I felt so special and appreciated:-)

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this!!! Of course it was personalized with my information.
Macie, Caleb, Jason, and 11.21.2003 (our anniversary)....and the best part is if we ever decide to have a 3rd child, I can send it back and Lisa will add another personalized charm for baby #3
