Sprinkler Fun!

This morning the weather was beautiful, so I decided to let Macie have some outside time before it got to hot! She had a blast playing in her Elmo sprinkler, especially when she realized that she could drink the water as it sprayed out:)! What a cutie!! It's the simplest things that Macie and I do during the day that make my heart just smile and make me so grateful that I am a stay at home mommy:)! I am EXTREMELY thankful that I have a hubby that works so hard so that I can stay home and experience all these great moments!! I wouldn't trade my "job" for the world!!!!!
Macie loves her new T-ball set she got this weekend!

Taco Soup

Last night I made Taco Soup and it was FABULOUS!  I got this great recipe several years ago from my friend Amanda .  I thought I would share it with everyone! Served with warm cornbread or tortilla chips, sour cream, and cheese it is SUPER tasty!

1 can rotel
1 can corn (undrained)
1 can kidney beans (undrained)
1 can black beans (undrained)
2 cans tomato sauce
1 package dry Ranch mix
1 package dry taco mix
1 lb ground beef, turkey, or shredded chicken

Cook meat then combine all the above ingredients on medium heat in large pot until simmering!  It's so easy and yummy!!!

Nonnie and Poppie on Vacation!

Last week my parents were on vacation. They had originally planned on going to Destin, but since they are going to be taking a trip to St. Thomas in the Caribbean at the end of August, they decided to stay home this week and do some work around the house! Of course, being off last week gave them TONS more time to spend with Macie! Poppie and Macie took a swim, they played in the dirt after Poppie pulled up the bushes (YES, Macie LOVES the dirt!!), they swang in the new swing Poppie put up for Nonnie, Nonnie and Macie enjoyed the nice weather in he lawn chairs, and we all went downtown on Thursday night to eat at the Flying Fish for a late Father's Day dinner! All you eat catfish on Wednesdays! YUM!!! If you have never tried this place, you MUST!!! Great food and great prices!

Mommy Advice NEEDED!

So, Macie started Mother's Day Out this summer for the first time ever at Bartlett Baptist Church. It it a 2 day a week program on Tuesdays and Thursday from 9-2:15.  I was so excited to get her signed up because she was definitely lacking the social interaction with other children.  I am currently working at the same school teaching  3 year olds just for the 6 week summer program. It's working out great because I get to make a little money and Macie gets to go FREE!  She is doing a great job and having so much fun, UNTIL nap time rolls around.  For the record, Macie is a GREAT sleeper.  Always has been.  She sleeps at least 12 hours a night and during the day at home she always takes at least a 2-3 hour nap! It's amazing! BUT....at school it's another story!  She DOES not get the concept of sleeping on a mat! She basically DOWN RIGHT refuses.  So by the time I pick her up she is SO EXHAUSTED that she falls asleep before we are out of the parking lot!  SO, I am asking for all you moms out there to PLEASE send any advice you might have on how to get my child to sleep on her mat at school!  I feel terrible because she is one of the few in her class that won't lay on her mat (AT ALL)....she fights the teachers and finally they just have to put her in the highchair while the others are sleeping!  ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!  For most of you that know me well, you know that I am a "stresser"....so this is HUGE for me!  HELP!

Prayer for the Haley Family

Please say a prayer for one of my very best friends Lea Haley.  Her grandmother passed away on Sunday morning and is now with her wonderful Savior.  Mrs. Melba had previously battled breast cancer, which had spread into other parts of her body.  Please pray for the Haley family as they grieve over the loss of an amazing mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother- Mrs. Melba Whitaker Baldwin.  I love you Lea, I am praying for you and your family!

Uncle B's Softball Game!

Thursday night the family headed over to Kay Kay's house for dinner! We enjoyed some YUMMY chicken salad sandwhiches. She makes the BEST chicken salad ever!!! After that we headed to Uncle B's softball game! He plays for Ridgeway Baptist Church. Macie had a great time playing in the dirt with her Kay Kay on the other empty field, while Jason and I enjoyed the game:) It was nice to spend some time with the family. And we all know Kay Kay is proud to finally have someone that enjoys the outdoors as much as she does!

First Summer Swim at Nonnies and Poppies!

Last Sunday Jason had to work late, so after church and Macie's nap, we headed to my parents house for a swim! This was Macie's first swim of the summer and at first she was NOT too happy about it! She was of course saying "no, no, no, no" over and over again, while glingging to me for dear life! But after a few minutes the initial shock wore off, she had a great time! When it was time to get out, she was not happy then either! She DID NOT want to get out! She kept trying to get back in:) She had so much fun! I can tell she is going to LOVE the sun and the pool as much as her mama does! This was just one of the MANY pool days that are to come!
