Caleb's Baby Dedication

Two weeks ago, Jason and I had the honor of dedicating our little boy to the Lord. It such a perfect day because not only did we pledge to grow him up in a Godly home and promise to teach him how to honor the Lord through our examples, but it was also Mother's Day! I am truly blessed to be a mommy to my two beautiful children. There is not a more REWARDING job! Thank you Lord for my two beautiful miracles!

6 Weeks Old!

Time is FLYING......I can't believe my sweet little man is already 6 weeks old! He weighs around 12 pounds already (yes my babies tend to plump up fast!!) and is sleeping well and definitely eating well! He wakes up once, sometimes twice during the night and nurses about every 2.5 to 3 hours during the day! He is on a pretty good schedule where he eats, is awake for about 45 min and then sleeps until his next feed during the day and at night he will eat and usually fall back asleep while eating. It is amazing how much he has changed in just 6 weeks! He rarely fusses unless he is tired or hungry and just is a really GOOD baby! He does have a little refulx, but we are getting that under control with Prevacid and it's making a HUGE difference. Macie is adjusting a lot better than when we first brought him home and Jason and I are loving EVERY minute of having two kids! It is truly a blessing! I'm SO IN LOVE!!!

Congratulations Jacob!

On Thursday, Jason's cousin Jacob, graduated from Olive Branch High School. We celebrated with family on Friday at his house with lots of food, fun, and family time! We are so proud of you Jacob! Good luck at Union next year!

Visit to the Great Grandparents House

On Sunday, Mom, Macie, Caleb, and I loaded up and headed to Pickwick to visit my grandparents (Macie and Caleb's Great Grandparents).  It was my first "long distance" trip with both kids and after running around for an hour after the time we were SUPPOSE to leave, we finally were in the car and ready to go! Man, there is a lot to get together when you add one more "little one" to the bunch:-)  We had a great trip up. On the way up, Macie watched movies and Caleb napped.  We visited with "Granny" and "Pap" and everyone had lots of fun.  Caleb napped most of the day and Macie had fun playing with the kitties at Granny's and walking to the pond and Pap's.  She even got to play with her second cousin Mark who is just 2 weeks older than her.

Caleb Michael Long......

is here! Caleb was born on April 9, 2009 at 5:17 a.m. He weighed 7 pounds 6 ounces and was 19.5 inches long! We are so excited our sweet baby boy is here! We were originally set for a scheduled c-section on April 17th at 9:30, but Caleb had other plans! Early that Thursday morning around 1:15, I happened to roll over in the bed and knew very quickly something wasn't "right". I thought my water might have broken but wasn't for sure, so I woke Jason up and told him and then decided to get up and see what was going on, and sure enough, I made it about half way around the bed and my water REALLY broke! So we called our parents and mine came right over. Mom rode with us to the hospital and Dad stayed at home with Macie. I was very blessed to not have any painful contractions from the time my water broke up until the time of delivery. Together Jason and I decided to go ahead with a c-section, considering I was not dilated at all and because I had a prior c-section with Macie, which meant I was not allowed any Pitosin to speed up the contractions and dilation. We could have been waiting for hours for him to arrive naturally, or we could wait about 30 MINUTES and have the section, and he would be here...so we chose the c-section! At 5:17 our little man arrived! I am so thankful that he was a healthy baby boy! This birth experience was COMPLETELY different from my last. We were able to bring Caleb back to recovery with us and then back to our room, where he stayed until he was able to come home with us as well! I had prayed very consistently that my water would break and that I wouldn't have to go through timing contractions, and the Lord answered my prayers! He even allowed Caleb to come at the EXACT time I had prayed for! AMAZING! We had family coming in town that week and I wanted them to be there when Caleb was born and it all worked out perfect!

We are at home now and all doing GREAT! The c-section was MUCH easier this time around and the recovery has been just as easy! Sweet Caleb is ONE month old now! I can't believe it!! Macie is SO in love with her little brother, as well as his mommy and daddy! Thank you Lord for our sweet blessing!

Caleb's Newborn Pictures

We had Caleb's newborn pictures taken two weeks after he was born.  Elizabeth, with Elizabeth Wiggs Photography did an AWESOME job as always!  I highly recommend her!  These are just a few of my favorites!
